Over $6 Million Contributed

Since 1997, Patrons of the Prado is pleased to have raised in total contributions over $6 million for our beneficiaries. Patrons of the Prado is committed to raising unrestricted grant funds allowing our beneficiaries the flexibility to address their greatest needs. Our "Bucks4Buses" initiative provides restricted grant funds for transportation and educational access for San Diego school children to experience the world-class treasures of Balboa Park, many for the first time.

Incoming President’s Message

Dear Patrons of the Prado & Our Supporters,

I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead this 100% volunteer, all-woman organization committed to the arts, sciences, history, and education in Balboa Park. It is a true honor to lead such a passionate, talented, and dedicated group of philanthropists, and I am filled with eagerness and anticipation for the year ahead. Thank you for being here, for giving your heart and precious time to Patrons of the Prado; for committing to make an impact.

This year heralds a period of transformation and continued growth for our organization, especially as we welcome 16 new, dynamic, diverse, and gifted members. I’m particularly delighted that last year’s committee successfully updated our Bylaws, allowing us to now focus on optimizing our impact. Our shared love of the arts, sciences, and cultural centers on the Prado in Balboa Park remains our guiding light. Through our dedication to the Greatest Needs Grants for our nine museum beneficiaries and the signature educational program “Bucks4Buses”, we are giving back to our San Diego community in profound and lasting ways.

As President, I will be calling upon each of your unique talents and contributions. Together, we will elevate the Patrons of the Prado to new heights of success and effectiveness within the Park. I believe that every member plays a vital role in contributing to the greater good of our organization. By working together in harmony, we ensure that our mission thrives. Let’s make this the year of our greatest impact, driven by continued positivity, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future of Patrons of the Prado.
