

GALA 2008
Event Date: July 12, 2008, Organ Pavilion 6:30pm, Black Tie
The theme of this year's gala is "Up, Up, and Away!" and will be held in the Organ Pavilion. This first-class event offers exciting live entertainment, gourmet wining and dining, with a fabulous auction. The Gala has raised over $1.3 million dollars in support of the museums on the Prado in Balboa Park.
Proceeds from this year's gala will be divided evenly to benefit the Museum of Photographic Art, San Diego Museum of Art, & The San Diego Museum of Man.

History
Patrons of the Prado have raised funds for eleven museums in Balboa Park since its inception in 1997. Supporting the museums on the Prado is our mission. The founders had a vision to gift unrestricted funds to these 11 museums so that everyone in the community could benefit greatly from the art and culture their programs and services offer.
Beneficiaries
Each year three museums are chosen to receive the funds raised that year, and these funds are divided equally. Each year the funds have increased substantially over the previous year. In fact, since the founding of Patrons of the Prado we have raised over $1 million for the museums. This year"s recipients include:
- Museum Of Photographic Arts
- San Diego Museum Of Art
- San Diego Museum Of Man
2008 Event: To Be Updated
Big band entertainment features an 11 person group called "KICKS", and there will be dancing under the stars. In addition to the great entertainment, we will have our delectable food prepared by signature chef Steve Black of the Sheraton. There is also a grand silent and live auction highlighting fabulous dinners, golf packages, lovely jewelry, trips and many items of value.
