Supporting an extraordinary collection of
arts and cultural institutions at Balboa Park—
the nation’s largest cultural urban park.

The Prado is Balboa Park’s central promenade, a crown jewel famous for its historical artisan-crafted facades, lush gardens, sparkling pools and flowing fountains. The area is alive with highly prized attractions, exhibitions and performances. The Prado is always “in season” providing a world-class cultural and educational experience for the millions of locals and visitors from around the world who frequent Balboa Park each year.

Since 1997 the Patrons of the Prado have provided over $4 million and thousands of volunteer hours to benefit the distinguished array of arts and cultural organizations that occupy the Prado in Balboa Park.

There is no better way to make an impact on a wide range of San Diego’s cultural landmarks and the health of our community’s arts, than by supporting Patrons of the Prado and our annual Gala—one of San Diego’s premier fundraising events.

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion will once again be transformed into a magical backdrop for the 2019 Gala, Masterpiece in Morocco. The Palace of the Prado awaits you. Join Patrons and Gala Chairs: Christina Jordan, Lynne Doyle and Nancie Geller for another spectacular evening supporting the arts, science and cultural organizations of Balboa Park.

WITH YOUR HELP

We’ve funded $4 million to support the missions of 10 arts, science and cultural organizations in Balboa Park. Last year over 35,000 children throughout San Diego County experienced the world-class wonders of Balboa Park — many for the first time. When you support Patrons you help each organization to continue to inspire minds, spirits and imaginations.
